About the Book

From New York Times and Edgar Award-nominate Peter Abrahams, a suspense-driven YA mystery about teen boy who helps his convict father escape from prison, and learns that not only is he his father's son, but also his father's mark. Wyatt's father has been in jail since before Wyatt can remember. His mother has never let him visit his father, but, on his sixteenth birthday, she relents. Wyatt finds his father to be incredibly charming, and believes him when he says he's been framed. Wyatt's father convinces Wyatt to help him escape when they drive him from the prison to the courthouse for a hearing. Wyatt agrees and father and son take off together as fugitives. Wyatt soon realizes, though, that his father has been manipulating him and in reality did commit the crime he'd been locked up for. And what's more, he's about to commit another one.
