Drahos Zak

Drahos Zak arrived in Australia from the Czech Republic in 1980. His unique style of illustrations spring from childhood adventures discovering Moravia′s castles, caves and churches. Drahos then went on to study illustration in Prague and Brno. In Australia, Drahos′s work in Murgatroyd′s Garden (1987) won him a CBC Honour Award. His illustrations are characterised by painstaking detail and a passionate commitment to capturing the spirit of the text in his artwork. Drahos lives in Austinmer, NSW.
