Brian Aldiss
Brian Aldiss was born in Norfolk. After active service in Burma and the Far East, he turned to writing; his Horatio Stubbs trilogy reflects those wartime days. His most famous SF novels include Hothouse and the Helliconia trilogy. He has won all the major SF awards. He has also published contemporary novels, and his Hugo Award-winning History of Science Fiction, Tillion Year Spree (with David Wingrove), and a memoir of his writing life, Bury My Heart at W.H. Smith′s. He is a past chairman of the Society of Authors, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
