Dr. Robert J. Ackerman is an internationally recognized recovery expert working with families and children. A Professor of Sociology and Director of the Mid–Atlantic Addiction Training Institute at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Ackerman is best known for writing the first book published in the United States on children of alcoholics in 1978.
