Fiona McIntosh

Fiona McIntosh was born and raised in Sussex in the UK, but also spent early childhood years in West Africa. She left a PR career in London to travel and settled in Australia in 1980. She has since roamed the world working for her own travel publishing company, which she runs with her husband. She lives in Adelaide with her husband and twin sons. Melissa Leaver sat down with Fiona McIntosh on a sunny afternoon at Caffe Buongiorno to interview the best-selling author about her latest trilogy with HarperCollins: The Quickening. They spoke about writing, fantasy as a genre, as well as her upcoming series Percheron.

How do you go about the process of creating a novel?

The answer I give you, writers like yourself may hate. I do no planning, at all, and so far I′ve done no research, because fantasy for me… is a very imaginative...
