Daniel Ariely

Dan Ariely is the Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Behavioral Economics at MIT. A tragic explosion many years ago which left him with extensive burns created a keen interest in the quality of the decisions that the nurses and physicians used to take care of him, leading him to research better approaches to treatment. This interest expanded to a larger range of irrationalities across many aspects of life -- and ultimately to the research described in Predictably Irrational.
