Join the Monday Morning Cooking Club. Since you’ve got a Monday off work, why not see what Yotam Ottolenghi and Nigella Lawson are raving about. Described as ‘cosy’, ‘welcoming’, ‘soul food’, these are the recipes for people who, in equal parts, love to cook and eat!
But who are the Monday Morning Cooking Club? Merelyn Frank Chambers, Natanya Eskin, Lauren Fink, Lisa Goldberg, Paula Horwitz, Jacqui Israel – these six women from Sydney’s Jewish community came together as friends every Monday morning to cook their favourite recipes and talk about food. Three words became their mantra: they wanted to SHARE the stories and recipes of their community, INSPIRE people to preserve their recipes, and GIVE all the profits to charity. They published The Monday Morning Cooking Club in April 2011, and have never looked back.
It’s not just us who are crazy about these lovely ladies, check out the high profile praise they’ve received.
‘to see these recipes handed down like this with such spirited generosity, is real food for the soul.’ Sean Moran
‘Collecting and saving family recipes is a vital undertaking, almost (but not quite) as important as eating. the Monday Morning Cooking Club is a remarkable excursion into the realm of comfort food. You just want to eat everything.’ Yotam Ottolenghi
So if you have some time this long weekend, why not join the Monday Morning Cooking Club and get cooking from one of their stunning cookbooks.
