Great awards news for HarperCollins authors
Finding Violet Park by Jenny Valentine has been shortlisted for this year's Carnegie Medal.
Karen Miller's Empress of Mijak and The Riven Kingdom have both been named Honour books at the James Triptree Jr Awards.
Steven Carroll's The Time We Have Taken has won the Commonwealth Writer's Prize for the South-East Asia and South Pacific Region, as well as being shortlisted for the Miles Franklin Award.
Also shortlisted for the Commonwealth Prize was The Zookeeper's War, the extraordinary debut novel from Steven Conte.
The Yiddish Policemen's Union by Michael Chabon has been nominated for a Hugo award, having already been shortlisted for an Edgar Award for Best Novel.
And in children's publishing, HarperCollins author Jackie French has not one but two books shortlisted: Pharaoh and The Shaggy Gully Times in this year's CBC Awards.
