This delightful story about raising and rearing a baby kookaburra is based on a true story.When tiny Jeremy falls out of his nest and is brought home by the family cat, he is only a few days old. Luckily, Jeremy is a fighter and as the weeks go by he grows stronger and stronger, until the time comes when he must say goodbye.
Danny Snell grew up in Adelaide and studied at the Adelaide Central School of Art and the University of South Australia, graduating with a Bachelor of Design (Illustration) in 1992. He has worked as an illustrator for 20 years creating work for ad agencies, design studios, newspapers and magazines. Danny also illustrates children's books, and working in a variety of media and with a focus on simple compositions he brings a gentle whimsy to his characters and settings. His book Jeremy won 2014 CBCA Eve Pownall Award for Information Books and the 2016 Wilderness Society Environment Award for Children's Literature – Picture Fiction for Seagull, which he wrote and illustrated.
