Mocha Bliss Balls: A Wholefood Simply recipe

Wholefood Simply mocha bliss balls

Wholefood Simply is an online community built by Bianca Slade, who desired a cleaner, healthy ‘whole food’ approach to desserts for her family.

The recipes she creates – like these Mocha Bliss Balls – are always simple, healthy and fun! Her new book features all-new wholefood recipes, from slices to ice cream; mug cakes to biscuits. Wholefood Simply: Natural Indulgence is the ultimate guide to healthy snacks and delectable (but not guilty) desserts.

  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons almond butter
  • 2 teaspoons instant coffee, dissolved in 1 tablespoon boiling water
  • 3 tablespoons cacao or cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 cup (100 g) almond meal

Place the honey, almond butter and coffee into a bowl and mix to combine. Add the cacao or cocoa powder, vanilla and salt, and mix to combine.

Add the almond meal, ¼ cup (25 g) at a time, and mix to combine.

Use your hands to work the mixture into a dough.

Use slightly damp hands to roll a tablespoon of the mixture into a ball. Repeat with remaining mixture and place the balls in the fridge to set.

NOTE: Lightly dust with cacao or cocoa powder, if desired.
